NCA Quality Assurance Review (QAR) Chair Training Workshop
Registration Form
In QAR training, participants will learn about the purpose and potential of AdvancED. The AdvancED Standards for Quality Schools and the AdvancED accreditation process will be presented. Participants will explore the three pillars of accreditation: high standards, continuous improvement, and quality assurance. They will be introduced to the benefits of accreditation and the scope of services and resources available to accredited schools and systems.
Specifically, this training consists of 4 modules over a two-day period of time to prepare you to serve as a QAR Team Chair. The training focuses on the following goals:
- Learning about the responsibilities of the chair and members of the visiting team;
- Understanding what to do before, during and after a visit;
- Developing skills and knowledge to lead an effective visit.
After completion of the 4 modules, you will be considered a nationally certified chair and would be eligible and expected to chair a visit in any of the thirty AdvancEd (NCA and SACS) states. Our primary interest is in having you trained to chair one or more QAR visits for the schools in Michigan. It is our expectation that your participation in this complimentary training signifies your interest in being assigned as a QAR chair.
